Swimming Lessons – Swimming Ability Forms / Field Trip Forms
Consent forms for Week 1 of swimming (June 3-6) went home on May 16. Form for Week 2 (June 10-13) – will be sent home later this week. They must be returned to the school no later than Thursday, May 23. As we must provide the Swimming Ability Forms to the pool in order for your child to be put into a lesson group.
We require many volunteers for each class that will assist the students at the swimming pool. Volunteers must have a valid police clearance completed through CBE. Please email Elise at ebwolff@cbe.ab.ca to check on the status of your police clearance or to get the volunteer clearance process started. It can take up to 6 weeks to get the clearance completed.
The City of Calgary provides a discounted and subsidized price for students to attend swimming lessons. If you require financial assistance for swimming lessons, please contact Kim at kiwong@cbe.ab.ca. This information needs to be provided before swimming lessons start.
HVS Spring Concert – Families Information
Tickets for the Spring Concert will be sent home with your child on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. Please contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions or concerns about tickets.

Valley Creek Middle School - Band Spring Concert
The Valley Creek Band would like to invite you and your family and friends to their Spring Concert. Please join them for a fun evening of music from their Band for students in Grade 7, 8 and 9!

Our HVS students LOVE to play soccer!
Students and families, please leave your cleats at home. This is a safety issue as shin pads need to be worn when soccer cleats are used. Please send your child with regular, weather appropriate outdoor shoes for recess time.
Volunteers Needed – French Student Books
We really need your help! We have thousands of leveled books that need to be re-labelled in order to be put back in students' classrooms. You do not need to read or speak French to help! We are inviting any parents/guardians who have a valid Police Clearance Check to come to the school whenever it is convenient. You do not have to confirm your attendance, you can simply come when you can. Thank you to all the volunteers who have already supported us with this project!
