Halloween & Pumpkin Patch Walk
We enjoyed seeing all of the great Halloween costumes yesterday, and the pumpkin walk was a huge success!
Remembrance Day Ceremony
Our ceremony will be on Thursday, November 7, 2024.  Please be aware that there will be limited seating. To acknowledge Hidden Valley School family members who have or are presently serving in the military or are service members, we will share a slide show with the pictures of our HVS student/staff and their family members.  Please send pictures to Genevieve Clarke at gcclark@cbe.ab.ca along with the name of the family members, when and how they served.
Sticker poppies will be distributed to all of the students before the Remembrance Day Ceremony. Please consider supporting The Royal Canadian Legion’s 2024 Poppy Campaign.
Veteran’s Food Bank – Donation Drive

Hidden Valley School will collect food donations for the Veterans Food Bank. Donations of non-perishable food items can be donated, starting November 4, 2024 and go until the end of the month. Please consider donating.
The Veterans Food Bank of Calgary is a service provided by CALGARY VETERANS SERVICES SOCIETY, founded in August 2018, to serve food security and other resource needs of veterans from Calgary and the surrounding area. VFBC supports veterans who’ve served in all branches of the Canadian Armed Forces and Reserves, as well as first responders. 100% of donations are invested in providing veterans assistance and services.
“Serving those who Served Us”

Active and Safe Routes to School Program
Our Grade 3 and 4 students in Rooms 8 & 9 are excited to be participating in the Active and Safe Routes to School program, a collaborative initiative by Ever Active Schools, the City of Calgary, the Calgary Police Department, and the Calgary Board of Education. Through this program, students are taking on the role of changemakers, actively collecting data, planning events, and working hard to make Hidden Valley a safer and more active place to learn. We are incredibly proud of their leadership as they make a difference in our community, and we look forward to seeing their ideas come to life. Stay tuned for updates on their inspiring journey.
Child and Youth Well-Being Family and Caregiver Fall/Winter Series 2024/25
The Calgary Board of Education invites all parents and guardians to join us in a pre-recorded and live online series focusing on child and youth well-being. These sessions will be hosted in partnership with experts from Alberta Health Services and Recovery Alberta and will explore topics such as Peer Pressure, Healthy Relationships, Mental Health for Highly Sensitive Teens, and navigating Parent-Teen relationships. Acting on feedback from participants who joined us during our live online sessions over the past two years, moving forward we invite all guardians and parents to listen to the pre-recorded or live sessions at their convenience.
