Photo Days
Ken Stewart Photography will be at school on Monday, October 21 and Tuesday, October 22 to take student photos and class photos. The photographer has suggested that students/staff not wear green clothes as the photos are taken in front of a green screen. The photos will be taken as follows:
Monday - Rooms 14AM, 15AM, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 14PM and 15PM
Tuesday - Rooms 22AM, 10, 11, 12, 13, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 and 23
If your child is absent on Monday, they can get their photo taken on Tuesday or during retakes which will take place on November 25.
Late Arrivals and Late Pickups
We kindly remind you of the importance of your child arriving at school on time. Timely arrivals contribute significantly to your child’s/children’s learning experience and helps foster good habits.
Students who get picked up late from school are often stressed that their pickup person hasn’t arrived yet. Please make sure that the person who picks up your child knows what time that your child’s class ends.

No Parking, Drop-off or Pick-up in Staff Parking lots
We continue to see parents parking/dropping off in the staff parking lot at Hidden Valley School and also at Valley Creek School. Parents are not allowed to drop-off or pick up students in the staff parking lots at any time of the day.
Learning Conferences
We will be holding Learning Conferences on October 24 and 25, 2024. This is an opportunity for families to meet with their child’s teacher to discuss their learning progress. All conferences must be booked online through your MyCBE / PowerSchool account using My Conference Manager. If you don’t have an account, please create one to schedule your appointment. You will be able to book your conferences starting on Wednesday, October 16 at 5:00pm. It will not allow you to book before that time.
If your family requires an interpreter, please let your child’s teacher know.

Demographic Verification - 2024-25 - Have you completed your online forms?
If you have not completed the online Demographic Verification form, we will be sending a paper copy home on Monday for you to complete and return immediately.
Pumpkin Patch Walk
Families are invited to bring their carved pumpkins to school on Thursday, October 31 to be added to a pumpkin patch. Students and their families will have the opportunity to walk through the pumpkin patch and enjoy the wonderful pumpkin carving and decorations. Please consider participating. More information will be shared soon.
Languages Project
This year, we have been working on creating an inclusive space for everyone at our school. Along with exploring the Blackfoot language in our learning environment, we also want to incorporate the home languages of our students. We thought this would be a great opportunity to involve our families! During conferences, we will have signs posted around the school with various vocabulary words. We invite you to add the translation of these words in the language(s) spoken in your home. Your contributions will help us celebrate the linguistic diversity of our community.
