Halloween & Pumpkin Patch Walk

Students and staff are encouraged to dress up in costumes that are appropriate to be worn at school (no masks, weapons etc.).

Families are invited to bring their carved pumpkins to school on Thursday, October 31 to add to our pumpkin patch. Students and their families will have the opportunity to walk through the pumpkin patch and enjoy the wonderful pumpkin carving and decorations. Please consider participating.

Remembrance Day Ceremony

Our ceremony will be on Thursday, November 7, 2023.  Please be aware that there will be limited seating. To acknowledge Hidden Valley School family members who have or are presently serving in the military or are service members, we will share a slide show with the pictures of our HVS student/staff and their family members.  Please send pictures to Genevieve Clarke at gcclark@cbe.ab.ca along with the name of the family members, when and how they served.

Safety Reminder – from Mrs. Chastko

HVS staff are committed to the safety of students and their families as they head to and from school. We continue to see unsafe practices, such as jaywalking and U-turns in the playground zone in front of our school. Additionally, students are being dropped off in the street, in bus zones and at the crosswalk. I’ve asked my staff to address any safety concerns witnessed by individuals. Unfortunately, these reminders are not always well-received.

It is important to remember that, while the school does not enforce traffic safety, we are reminding everyone to do what they can to ensure ALL students, and their families, are safe when they travel to and from school. CPS Traffic Safety Unit and Bylaw Officers have been out a few times this year and will continue to visit Hidden Valley School this year.

Complaints, where a specific violator or license number can be identified, should be referred to the non-emergency line at 403-266-1234 for appropriate dispatch response. You can also complete a TSR online or call the TSR line at 403-567-4029.
