Are you considering French Immersion in the CBE for your Kindergarten and/or Grade 1 child? If so, and if École Hidden Valley School is your designated Early French Immersion School, this open house is for you!

• Don’t speak French? No problem…come and learn more! Learning French can expand your child's mind, strengthen their English literacy skills and provide them with more choices for advanced education and career options.

Did you know that:

• École Hidden Valley School is a dual track school, offering the Early French Immersion Program as an option for all students living in the communities of Hidden Valley, Hanson Ranch, Sandstone, MacEwan Glen, Kincora, The Hamptons, Sherwood and Ambleton. Please check the CBE website to determine your designated Early French Immersion School.

• Students can begin Early French Immersion in either Kindergarten or Grade 1.

Entrance Age Requirements:

Children can start Kindergarten in the fall of 2024 if they turn 5 years old on or before December 31, 2024. Children must start school if they are 6 years of age or older on September 1.

Language Requirement:

There is no requirement for students to have prior exposure to French to begin classes in Kindergarten or in September of their Grade 1 year. Parents are also not expected to understand or speak French.

Registration Information:

Kindergarten registration begins January 15, 2024. Registrations submitted prior to the lottery deadline of 12 PM (noon) February 13, 2024, will be included in the lottery draws.

All registrations received after noon on Feb. 13, 2024, will be added to the callback list (based on the appropriate priority level) in the order they are received.
