School Council Meeting - Thursday, September 28

Welcome to the new school year! We hope the summer break has been enjoyable for our Hidden Valley School students, staff, and community. We look forward to seeing everyone at our first meeting of the school year on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at 6.30pm at the school.  Please find attached our draft agenda for the evening.  Meeting Agenda More information is posted on our website for your review on the School Council page. We will start with the regular School Council meeting including presentations from some of our dedicated teachers, Mrs. Cynthia Engelbracht (Grade 1/2 Teacher), Ms. Jenn Phelps (Grade 1/2 Teacher), Mrs. Meaghan Wiwchar (Learning Leader and Grade 3 Teacher).

This will be followed by an admin update from Principal Michelle Chastko and Assistant Principal Allison Robb on areas of general interest to the school community. If you have any specific questions you would like Admin to respond to at the meeting, please email hiddenvalleyschoolcouncil@gmail.com tonight, to provide some preparation time for Michelle and Allison to address items appropriately.  Please note: certain questions may be not be general enough for a School Council meeting and may be directed to a less public forum by Admin for further discussion. School Council meetings are an excellent opportunity to connect with other parents, as well as to find interesting information about classroom activities, important changes, and upcoming events for the year. We hope to see many of you in attendance This School Council meeting will be followed by our Annual General Meeting and Board elections. If you are curious about a Board or other volunteer position, the position descriptions are here: https://school.cbe.ab.ca/School/Repository/SBAttachments/e842125f-9df7-4894-b29c-b275054a2b4e_HVSCRoleDescriptions_FINAL.pdf

We encourage you to email hiddenvalleyschoolcouncil@gmail.com in advance of the AGM if you would like to put your name forward for a specific position or committee. We will accept nominations from the floor during the AGM, but knowing in advance which positions already have interested volunteers makes this process more time efficient overall.

On a side note: Our family has been dealing with an illness this past week, so I hope our school community is keeping themselves safe and healthy.
