  • Insect bites or stings

Carnaval Food Experience

Wednesday, February 11

Hidden Valley School will be enjoying a maple-flavoured hard candy—a traditional maple syrup treat—to celebrate Carnaval on February 11.

As part of our learning, students are exploring Carnaval to connect with traditional French-Canadian culture. This candy reflects the traditional experience of maple syrup on snow served at a sugar shack and supports Social Studies curriculum outcomes by helping students appreciate Canada’s cultural diversity.

Ingredients:
Glucose, pure maple syrup, sugar

If your child:

  • Has specific dietary restrictions and cannot participate, please send an alternative snack
  • Should not have the maple candy, please contact your child’s teacher

Thank you to School Council for funding this culturally enriching experience.

This Isn’t Goodbye — It’s See You Soon

I would like to share that I will be moving on to a new position at William Aberhart High School this upcoming week. As I take this next step, I want you to know how grateful I am for Hidden Valley School. The HVS school community has been incredibly warm, welcoming, and supportive. I truly value the opportunity that I’ve had to get to know and work with your children. Thank you for the kindness, trust, and sense of community that have made my time at Hidden Valley so meaningful.

Sincerely,
Mme Elise
