Indoor Shoes
To help keep our school clean and safe, children are required to keep a pair of running shoes at school for indoor use only. These shoes must have light-coloured soles.
If students are unable to tie their own shoes, they should wear slip-ons or shoes with Velcro straps. Please ensure your student’s shoes are labelled with their name.
Student Belongings at School
To help all students stay focused, calm, and engaged in learning, we ask that toys, trinkets, Pokémon cards, hockey cards, and other personal items from home remain at home.
Items brought to school can become distractions, cause conflicts between students, and are frequently lost. For these reasons, personal items are not permitted at school or in classrooms. If students bring these items to school, they will be collected and returned at the end of the day.
Next School Council Meeting
The next School Council meeting will take place on Wednesday, November 4, at 6:30 PM at Hidden Valley School.
We will continue to offer a live-stream option through Microsoft Teams for those who prefer to join remotely. The link will be shared closer to the meeting date.
All parents and guardians are welcome! We hope to see you there.
Child & Youth Well-Being Family & Caregiver Series
Well-being is a precondition for student achievement. Student well-being supports learning and success. Students bring strengths, experiences, and capacities that can be nurtured through supportive relationships and inclusive learning environments.
As students navigate challenges related to mental health and well-being, we have an opportunity to strengthen belonging, build skills, and ensure access to responsive supports.
The CBE invites all parents and guardians to join a live online series focused on supporting child and youth well-being. Hosted by the Recovery Alberta Community Education Service (CES) Program in collaboration with experts from the Calgary community, this year’s sessions will explore a range of timely topics.
These sessions are designed to equip families with the knowledge, tools, and strategies to navigate the challenges and opportunities of raising children and teens today.
These sessions are free and provide information, resources, helplines, and services to support healthy child and youth development.
