Spirit Day - Monday, October 5 | Dress Like a Teacher

In honour of World Teacher Day, we are having our first spirit day of the year! Students are asked to dress like a teacher for the day.

Changes to Drop-Off and Pickup

Beginning Monday, October 5, 2026, Hidden Valley School will no longer be operating the Hug N Go program. Instead, we will be following the City of Calgary signage and parking regulations for the passenger loading zone located in front of the school.

The roadway in front of the school is designated as a Loading Zone, which allows vehicles to stop for the purpose of loading or unloading passengers for up to 10 minutes. By aligning our procedures with the City's signage, we hope to support smoother traffic flow during our busiest times of the day and provide a consistent approach for all families and visitors.

What is staying the same:

• Families may continue to drop off and pick up students in front of the school using the designated loading zone
• Students should continue to exit and enter vehicles from the curb side whenever possible
• Staff will continue to support student safety on school property

We ask all drivers to:

• Follow all posted parking and traffic signs
• Use the loading zone only for active drop-off and pick-up, with a ten-minute time limit
• Avoid stopping in areas that block traffic, driveways, crosswalks, or transit zones
• Respect our neighbours by not parking in front of or blocking private driveways

Families who require additional time are encouraged to use available parking in the surrounding community and walk their child to or from the school.

If families have concerns regarding traffic, parking, signage, or driver behaviour on public roadways, please contact 311. The City of Calgary is responsible for traffic regulations, parking enforcement, signage, and roadway concerns.

Thank you for your support and cooperation as we work together to create a safe and efficient arrival and dismissal experience for everyone in our school community.
