Vaccination Information for Families
As part of AHS’s School Vaccination program, school nurses will be at our school to offer vaccinations for eligible students. A nurse will be connecting with families whose child is eligible to seek permission and provide any additional information. The dates are as follows:
November 6, 2023 - Students who are in Grade 2 and 3 who are eligible to receive a vaccine they missed previously.
February 27, 2024 – Students in Grade 1, who are eligible for vaccination.
Pumpkin Patch Walk: Families are invited to bring their carved pumpkins to school on Tuesday, October 31 to be added to a pumpkin patch. Students and their families will have the opportunity to walk through the pumpkin patch and enjoy the wonderful pumpkin carving and decorations. Please consider participating. More information will be shared soon.
Remembrance Day Ceremony: Our ceremony will be on Wednesday, November 8, 2023. To acknowledge Hidden Valley School family members who have or are presently serving in the military or are service members, we will share a slide show with the pictures of our HVS student/staff and their family members. Please send pictures to Mrs. Chastko at mjchastko@cbe.ab.ca along with the name of the family member, when and how they served.
Child and Youth Well-Being Webinar Series for Parents and Guardians
These sessions will be free and provide information, resources, helplines, and services to support healthy child and youth development. The Calgary Board of Education invites all parents and guardians to join us in an online series focusing on child and youth well-being. These sessions will be hosted in partnership with experts from Alberta Health Services and will explore topics such as vaping, brain development, mental health, and sexual health. CBE educators believe that parents and guardians can inspire their kids to make healthy lifestyle choices and increase protective factors – in order to do so, they need the right tools and information.
