Litterless Lunches: we are working to decrease our environmental footprint by Reducing, Reusing, and Recycling our food waste. This means that wrappers, plastic bags, juice boxes and other disposables will be sent home in your child's lunch kit to be composted, reused, recycled or put in the garbage.
Message from Mrs. Chastko – HVS is a Nut Aware School
As the Principal of Hidden Valley School, I am keenly aware of the shared commitment to respecting others, embracing our uniqueness and supporting each other through our sense of community and generosity – our school motto, We Work Together | Nous travaillons ensemble in action. Our students, their families and our staff make HVS a safe, welcoming, caring and respectful learning environment. To this end, I would like to take this opportunity to let families know that our school is “Nut Aware.” This means that some of our children have food allergies, intolerances and severe anaphylaxis reactions to nuts. Please be mindful about sending food that contains nuts to school and limit these products, when possible. As a strong community we embrace the needs of all of our children and keep them safe at all times.

National Day of Truth and Reconciliation (TRC- Truth and Reconciliation)
The National Day of Truth and Reconciliation/Orange Shirt Day is on September 30, 2023. Hidden Valley School will be closed to students and staff on September 29 in recognition of this day.
The Government of Canada has proclaimed Sept. 30 as the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The new federal national day directly responds to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Call to Action No. 80 and CBE’s Education Plan where we have committed to “acknowledge and support the implementation of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action.”
The intention of the day is to recognize and honour residential school survivors, their families and communities. It will also ensure that public commemoration of the tragic and painful history and legacy of residential schools remains a vital component of the reconciliation process.
HVS students and staff will continue this learning, in a developmentally appropriate way. This is also a good opportunity for us to remember our commitment to the TRC, please see attached: Comittment to TRC.pdf
Bussed Students:
