October 

  • Thursday, October 19 – No School for Kindergarten, Student Learning Conferences (Kindergarten – during day, evening AND Grade 1-3 – evening)

Mark your calendars, the Fall Dance is on October 26! We are looking forward to an exciting night of music, dancing and prizes with our school community.  

Did you know that you can support your school while picking up your favourite bakery treats? Cobs Bread at both the Sage Hill and Country Hills location support our school! All you need to do is request your purchase be put towards Hidden Valley School! 

Got extra bottles? We will be hosting a bottle drive in January after the winter break! Can’t wait? Please consider donating them at the Sage Hill Bottle Depot! You can request your total to be deposited to Hidden Valley School Council!

Did you know.... 

Alberta Health Services (AHS) AHS Pediatric Community Rehabilitation Services provide speech-language services within home and community environments. Parents seeking services for speech sound disorders, stuttering and swallowing can self-refer their children at 403-910-2070. These supports are not provided at school. Visit Pediatric Rehabilitation at Alberta Health Services for a full listing of services and how to access.  

Vaccination Information for Families  

As part of AHS’s School Vaccination program, school nurses will be at our school to offer vaccinations for eligible students. A nurse will be connecting with families whose child is eligible to seek permission and provide any additional information. The dates are as follows: 

November 6, 2023 - Students who are in Grade 2 and 3 who are eligible to receive a vaccine they missed previously.  

February 27, 2024 – Students in Grade 1, who are eligible for vaccination.  

Pumpkin Patch Walk:    Families are invited to bring their carved pumpkins to school on Tuesday, October 31 to be added to a pumpkin patch. Students and their families will have the opportunity to walk through the pumpkin patch and enjoy the wonderful pumpkin carving and decorations. Please consider participating. More information will be shared soon.   

Remembrance Day Ceremony: Our ceremony will be on Wednesday, November 8, 2023. To acknowledge Hidden Valley School family members who have or are presently serving in the military or are service members, we will share a slide show with the pictures of our HVS student/staff and their family members.  Please send pictures to Mrs. Chastko at  mjchastko@cbe.ab.ca along with the name of the family member, when and how they served.
